Following the advice of TV interior programmes, home décor could be seen as on the bland side. We were all encouraged to keep it neutral, make one room flow into another and not use anything that would put off potential buyers. We may have had no intention of selling our home, but it was the look we saw in magazines and on TV programmes.

But patterned tiles have made the rounds again, and they can look absolutely stunning in the right room or even paired with another tile! Some come as a set pattern, some come in a box of mixed patterns, there are endless possibilities when it comes to this genre. There are traditional and very modern designs, patchwork, textile, geometric, Moroccan, abstract and Victorian plus many more.
